西川は誰もが目にしたことのある瓶や林檎を基軸に、絵画という枠の中に絵の具という物質でその姿を繋ぎ刻んでいく。
瓶の作品では、瓶とその周辺を包む空気の層や光そして物の存在そのものを表現している。林檎の作品では、刻一刻と変わり続ける時間／空間の中で林檎の像を凝視しながら、そのイメージを増幅し描いている。
デジタル社会が加速し情報過多な現代において、目の前にある物や居場所の"ありのままの手触り"を追求し続ける彼女の絵画には、見えないものを見せる力がある。
素材には油彩・染料などを使用し、色彩豊かな物質性のある力強いブラシストロークやマチエールが作品上に表出する。
それは、私たちが今生きている現実空間へとつながる実在の息遣いとなって立ち現れてくるだろう。

Nishikawa's works are based on bottles and apples that we have all seen before, and she uses the material of paint to connect and carve their forms within the frame of a painting.
In his work with bottles, he expresses the layers of air and light surrounding the bottles and their surroundings, as well as the existence of the objects themselves. In the work of apples, he stares at the image of apples in the ever-changing time/space, amplifying and depicting the image.
In today's digital society with its accelerated information overload, her paintings have the power to show us what we cannot see, as she continues to pursue the “real touch” of the things and places in front of her eyes.
She uses oil paints and dyes as materials for her paintings, which are rich in color, materiality, and powerful brush strokes and matières.
The paintings are a breath of reality connected to the real space in which we live today.
