Yamaguchi consistently attempts to visualize the world that unfolds within human beings through a variety of means of expression, including painting, drawing, and ceramic sculpture. However, this is not the same as the artist's own personal mental landscapes. Life and death, the individual and the collective, the secret and the public, subject and object, oppression and liberation... She reinterprets his own experiences as universal conflicts that occur within human beings, and while using them as subject matter, manifests them in familiar motifs such as plants and people's faces. The fluctuations and overlaps of the countless lines that form the motifs invite us into an extremely limited linear relationship, like a tunnel connecting those who trace the motifs with their eyes and the objects depicted.
